Navy Pier Restroom Renovations

SPAAN Tech provided architectural and engineering services for the renovation of both men’s and women’s public restrooms located in the Family Pavilion and the first floor of the Terminal Building. Renovations included new ceiling tile and grid, drywall, floor tile and toilet partitions.

SPAAN Tech prepared all civil design, electrical design, and specifications related to the project, which was designed to meet ADA requirements

South Water Purification Plant Roof

SPAAN Tech supported the Chicago Department of Water Management through a renovation of all existing roof structure and roof accessories for the Department’s Administration Building, Filter Building, Chemical Building, and Low Lift Pump Building at the South Water Purification Plant.

Re-Roofing consisted of removal of all existing roof membranes, existing insulation, and gravel; total roof deck replacement; and membrane replacement (with additional drains).

68th Street Pumping Station Roofing and Façade Renovation

Constructed in 1868, the 68th Street Pumping Station was the first of its kind in Chicago, drawing water from a crib out in Lake Michigan. SPAAN Tech, Inc. redesigned the station’s steep and low slope roofs, which involved renovating existing plumbing and external drains.

Our team introduced new insulation and roofing systems to the station, including implementation of cool metal and modified bitumen systems. In addition, SPAAN Tech designed OSHA approved ladders.

Great Lakes Naval Base: Program Management of Design Build Project

SPAAN Tech, Inc. designed and renovated a 35,737 square foot historic Fire Department Facility Building 106 at Great Lakes Naval Base to accommodate EMT personnel while simultaneously streamlining the existing building functions.

SPAAN Tech provided architectural, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC engineering, as well as quality control management for this project. We also provided general contracting, construction management and safety services.
