The Small Business Commerce Association recognized SPAAN Tech, Inc. as Best of Business in Chicago Engineering Services in 2009. In 2007, the firm was named to Inc. Magazine’s list of the 5,000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies.
As head of SPAAN Tech, Smita Shah was selected as one of Crain’s Chicago Business “40 Under 40” in 2008, and received the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Young Civil Engineer of the Year Award in 2007. In 2011, she was selected as the American Consulting Engineers Council of Illinois (ACEC-IL) Community Leader of the Year.
