Daniel Burke, P.E., S.E.

Daniel (Dan) Burke, P.E., S.E., serves as SPAAN Tech, Inc.’s President. A leader in his field, Mr. Burke has over 30 years of expertise in all levels of project planning, design and construction, including administering maintenance programs and the practice and implementation of sustainable design principles and environmental practices. Throughout his career, he has led major public and private sector bridge, roadway, transit facility, shoreline revetment and municipal utility system projects.

Mr. Burke previously served as Managing Deputy Commissioner/Chief Engineer for the Chicago Department of Transportation where he oversaw the programming, project planning, design and construction of capital improvements for the Department. In this role, Mr. Burke’s leadership shaped Chicago’s infrastructure and public spaces through transformative projects, including the Albany Park Stormwater Diversion Tunnel, Chicago Riverwalk, Bronzeville pedestrian bridges, Wacker Drive reconstructions, Bloomingdale Trail, Loop Link, six new CTA stations and many more.
