The project was to develop a dynamic hydrologic and hydraulic sewer system model for the Chicago Department of Water Management. The model will be used to access system performance, supply recommendation for future sewer system improvement and City development, and evaluate the relationship between overflows and storm events.
As a sub-consultant to CH2M Hill, SPAAN Tech provided support primarily for the model development of the Model Area 3B sewer system. SPAAN Tech employed GIS technologies to simplify the system, prepare hydrologic and hydraulic parameters, and perform quality assurance and quality control.
