The Illinois Tollway is rebuilding and widening the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) as a 21st century, state-of-the-art corridor linking Rockford to O'Hare International Airport. SPAAN Tech provided Phase III engineering services including: Construction Inspection, and supervision at selected locations for various projects on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (JAMT), in Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, and Kane Counties, Illinois, for 5 Task Orders.

Task #1: General Administrative Services - Provided Project Management for Phase III engineering services including: Construction Inspection, and Supervision at selected locations for various projects on JAMT, in Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, and Kane Counties, Illinois.

Task #2: I-90 Power Distribution Duct Bank and Crossroad Utility Conduit Installation (Jan. 2014 – Aug. 2014) - Improvements constructed along WB JAMT between M.P. 17.6 and M.P. 53.2. Work under this contract included: Installing segments of a power duct bank for power distribution to serve 34 Intermediate Power Distribution and Communication (IPDC) facilities; Installation of conduits below the Tollway’s mainline pavement to allow burial of aerial power and telecommunication facilities by utility company; Maintenance of Traffic.

Task #3: I-90 Noise Abatement Wall Construction (Jan. 2014 – May 2014) - Improvements constructed along WB JAMT between M.P. 37.7 and M.P. 38.2 in McHenry County, Illinois and between M.P. 49.1 and M.P. 49.4 in Kane County, Illinois. Work included installing 2 noise abatement walls along north side of I-90; maintenance of traffic; and site restoration.

Task #4: Johnson Rd and Shattuck Rd Bridge Widening and Reconstruction over JAMT (I-90), (Feb. 2014 – Sept. 2014) - Improvements constructed along Johnson Rd at M.P. 26.5 and Shattuck Rd at M.P. 28.8 in Boone County, Illinois. Included reconstruction of both Johnson and Shattuck Road Bridges over I-90; permanent signage, construction of storm drainage, installation of guardrail, landscaping and erosion control, MOT, and painting of structural steel.

Task #5: I-90 Intermediate Power Distribution & Communication (IPDC) Facility Installation (March 2014 – July 2015) - Improvements constructed along WB JAMT between M.P. 18.5 and M.P. 53.1 in Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, and Kane Counties, Illinois. Work included: fabricated/installed 34 IPDC facilities; prepare and install IPDC site infrastructure, conduit, concrete pads and bollards; install ITS fiber-optic distribution cable; connect all ITS devices (RTMS, traffic monitoring cameras, RWIS and DMS); install 8 natural gas generators; install ITS Ethernet switches; testing all elements of each system.
